A child and adolescent psychiatrist, conducts full psychiatric evaluations with children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Altahir is experienced in the treatment of a variety of clinical concerns, including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), intellectual disabilities, Autism spectrum disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, and psychosis. After adult psychiatry training in Virginia Commonwealth University, Dr. Altahir completed his fellowship studies at Penn State University in 2005. Kelly Lohmann, PA
A certified Physician Assistant educated and trained at the Yale School of Medicine with over eight years of direct patient care experience. Before training as a Physician Assistant, she earned her Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from San Diego State University and worked at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County California. She also owned and operated her own fitness and weight management consulting firm and taught Physiology at UCLA and Santa Monica College. Kelly is married with two children and enjoys tennis and running in her spare time.
Chris van Eyck, PA
A certified Physician Assistant with over 12 years of experience working in Adult and Pediatric Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery. He is a graduate of Cornell Medical School, and has worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Miami Children’s Hospital, Suburban Hospital, and Inova Fairfax Hospital. Working with a wide range of patients, Chris has always had a special interest in postoperative depression, and enjoys working with children and adults in all phases of behavioral health. Chris is married to his wife Kim, a colorectal surgeon, and spends his free time playing guitar, and raising his two daughters.
Amanda Norton , PA-C
Amanda Norton received her M.S. from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA in 2006. She received her B.S. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 2002 with a degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, & Exercise. Amanda has been working as an NCCPA certified P.A. in the DC Metro area for over ten years and was previously working in internal medicine, managing patients with multiple complex health conditions. She is a licensed P.A. in Virginia and Washington, DC. She loves spending time having fun with her 7 year old son and her fiance, jogging outside, and traveling to the Caribbean.
Patience Yengo FNP-BC
A certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in acute hospital settings, Nursing Home and Home Healthcare. She completed her BSN in George Mason University and her Masters from Marymount University in the state of Virginia. Experience in internal medicine, weight management and managing surgical and orthopedics patients with multiple comorbidities. Patience is married with three boys, enjoys gardening and spending time with family. Loves working with teenagers and young adults.
Aaron Brodsky, PhD
Dr. Brodsky joined us after serving as the Traumatic Brain Injury Advisor to the US Marine Corps for over 20 years. specializes in neuropsychological evaluations of children and adults, from age 6 and up, expertise in traumatic brain injury and t he does individual and family therapy for all variety of psychological conditions.
Back in 2005, Dr. Brodsky was instrumental in standing up the US Army’s first Traumatic Brain Injury and Neurorehabilitation Center at Fort Bragg. In addition to his expertise in clinical and neuropsychology, healso holds a post-doctoral degree in psychopharmacology. Though he does not prescribe medication in Virginia, he is able to answer questions and speak to prescribers as needed. Dr. Brodsky regularly consults with school systems and conducts evaluations for special needs, be they for IEP’s, 504’s, or gifted programs.
He has been a regular consultant to court systems in Florida, North Carolina, and Canada. He has been an expert witness in criminal, civil, and dependency court. Dr. Brodsky has conducted many evaluations on a wide variety of forensic issues, including foster care concerns, adoption, injury and disability, sanity, and capital murders.
